Howdy,
First, you’ll need to assign a category to your posts:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/categories/Once you do so, you can add a category page to your custom menu:

ALmost there, thanks
If I click on a tag/category on a post it brings up all posts with thelabel, for example history.
But if I click on top on the header links next to my blog image nothing happens, please advice… -
Howdy,
It looks like you’re trying to build multiple menus, rather than one menu.
Please review the guide on building custom menus here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/And then activate your menu once you’ve built it:

Hello Chris,
I can only get one of my custom menus to stick on the top an it will link to all post based on the category> for example HISTORYBut I cannot add the other 6 menus…
Pleaseeeeeeeee help again

You’ll need to add all of the desired items to the one menu.
See the video guide at http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/

now I have all my links up and GEAR is working as it should
In MENUS i have under theme location under primary navigation GEAR selected. But if I do the same for the other links it screws it all up.
If ther is a phone # we can talk, would cut my frustration in half…

I’m sorry, but we do not offer phone support.
At Appearance -> Menus in your blog’s Dashboard, you have created several menus, each with several items in it.
Instead, you need to create one menu with all of your items. Each item can have its own sub-items.
Please review http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#changing-the-order-of-menu-items-and-creating-sub-menus and http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#watch-a-video for more info.

I am not trying to sub menus.
I am trying to pull post with the same category to show as it is working now under GEAR -
Gear is a category. You need to add the other items to your menu as Categories. Currently, Gear is the only category added to that menu. The rest there are Pages, not categories.
