Pages not loading

  When I try to access certain individual pages on my website from the main page, such as the ‘Music’ or ‘Promo’ categories, only a blank page loads. I have not had this issue in the past. Can you please assist with this? I have tried both Safari and Fire Fox and the same thing happens with both.

  Hi there,

  The site at http://darcmickerson.wordpress.com/ is completely empty and hasn’t been updated since 2012.

  Can you please tell us which site in your account you’re referring to?

  All signs point to the fact that your site is a self-hosted WordPress.org site, not a WordPress.com site.

  To clear up any confusion, self-hosted WordPress sites and WordPress.com are two, different entities, but the essential difference is that we don’t have access to all WordPress sites, only ones hosted on our WordPress.com servers. For more information, please see:

  I can’t figure out how to post on this other forum…I am very frustrated by this process. I am a paying customer and have been for years. Is there no customer support number I can call or email so that I can actually receive help for my problem? I keep being directed to forums.

  Hi Marc,

  You are not paying us for anything related to that site. While you do have several WordPress.com sites in your account, they are all on our free plan, and the site at http://www.marcdickerson.com/ has no connection to WordPress.com at all.

  That site is hosted with iPage.com, so you’re paying them for hosting costs, and the domain is registered with Domain.com, so you’re paying them for registration/renewal of your domain.

  You’re not paying either of them or us for your use of the WordPress software on that site, as that software is free and open source and made by a community of volunteers on WordPress.org. That community provides support for that software in the WordPress.org forums, and you need to register an account on the WordPress.org website in order to post in those forums.

  Some hosting providers do provide support for the WordPress software as well – if the hosting plan you bought from iPage includes WordPress support, you can contact iPage support directly for help with this. But most hosting providers only provide support related to the hosting account, not the WordPress software itself.
