Paid for domain, but didn't get it
-
Hi I paid for a domain called christ.live and completed the transaction via paypal. But when the site was set up, it had the wordpress domain. Do I have to upgrade to a plan in order to have a custom domain? Even if I paid $25 for a custom domain, if I didn’t pay for a plan, can I use it? I suspect this is happening because I only bought the custom domain but not the plan. Please explain

Hello, Where did you buy the domain? I still see it as available.
To the best of my knowledge, there are no individual domain purchase upgrades on WordPressdotcom, so you would need to purchase at least the Personal plan in order to buy the custom domain. Having done so should have mapped the domain automatically.

Hi, I bought it through wordpress by adding a site. OK. so I’ve tried adding another site and this time also buy a plan. It says now I need an “active access token” … ??
Please help. thanks

I am not seeing any upgrades associated with your WordPress.com user account. There was a domain purchase a few years back, but it expired in 2015.
Can you try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser and let me know if you still get that error message?
