paragraph format not working

  the format I am seeing in my dashboard post editor is not the format that comes up in the actual post on my blog. The spacing is wrong. I could put 10 spaces between my first two lines and the 3rd line of text but when I update and look at my blog it appears squished together. I tried adjusting the format to paragraph and others but nothing worked. Please help me wordpress.
