Parent Categories not available

  Hi,
  I am new and trying to get my site together.
  I used the category widget and made three categories, with the drop down menus, hierarchy, and the other one I can’t remember.
  I did a post to see how things would work and it came up with all of the categories. When I added a new category, it only shows “uncategorized” as an option, and not the three others that I created? I don’t know if it is the system or me, but how would I be able to get all of my three categories listed in the parent drop-down list? Thanks for your help before I lose any more hair from this.

  I only see one Post that is Uncategorized – a category needs to have at least one Post assigned to it before the category will show up. Assign all the categories to your Welcome Post and the categories should show up in the drop down
