Parse Syntax Error
-
Hello, I am not the original creator, but the site I am editing does not work now. I selected a theme that led to this error: ‘Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘class’ (T_CLASS), expecting identifier (T_STRING) or variable (T_VARIABLE) or ‘{‘ or ‘$’ in /home/conf20/public_html/wp-content/themes/vancura/inc/customizer.php on line 14.’ Now the website does not work. Please help me fix this and remove this bugged theme.

Hi –
It sounds like that site does not use the managed hosting environment from WordPresss.com. You will need to visit https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ to get assistance with that site.

Sorry. I forgot to mention that if you send the site URL we can help point you in the right direction for some help, and also confirm which version of WordPress the site uses.

Hello, thank you for your reply. The site url is http://2020conference.ashe.pro/
I tried accessing the site using ftp and was unable to login in FileZilla. I received an error saying I could not connect to the server.

That is a self-hosted WordPress.org site, which we really can’t help with here.
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
WordPress.org has complete documentation for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress.org at https://wordpress.org/support/ and support at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
