Password protect entire blog?

    I would like to password protect my entire blog – but would prefer if users wouldn’t have to access the login page first. ie – I would like to send someone the link to my blog, and have the blog password protected (entire password in once, access whole blog) – but not be prompted with the login screen.

    I’ve found several add-ons that seem like they might work, however they all involve uploading content to an FTP site – which I will not be able to do.

    What are my options for this?

    There is no way to directly password-protect the entire blog, but you can make it private via Settings -> Privacy. Intended viewers would need to have an invited WordPress.com account to access it.
