password protect wedding blog
-
Dear all,
I’ve set up a wedding blog on WordPress.com and I’m stoked about it! It’s currently private but I would like to share it only with guests who are invited to the reception. Is there a way to allow guests access to all posts with just a password (which I can set and give out with invites)? As far as I can tell, the only way to do this is to invite guests via email to view the blog, and have them sign in with their wordpress accounts. Unfortunately, I know setting up a wordpress account just to view a blog will be beyond the capabilities of many of the older guests. Is there a way around this?
Rgards,
ShandiyaThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

While you can password protect individual posts and pages with just a simple password, if the whole site is set as “private” the above is the only method for viewers to see it.

Thanks for the quick response, rootjosh! I have five posts, that I’m using in lieu of pages, so could I password protect them as a whole and make the site public?

You would have to password protect each post individually. You could give each post the same password, but viewers would still have to log into each one I am afraid.
