Password Protect WordPress Site

  I would like to have viewers enter a password before seeing my wordpress site. If they type in spcares.wordpress.com, I would like for it to require a password before allowing them to view the content of the site as a whole. I know Blogger has a feature like this. How can I set this up with wordpress?

  There isn’t a password option for a whole WordPress.com site. You can make your site private and invite-only by following the instructions here:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/

  However, each of your readers will need to have a WordPress.com account.
