Password-protected post stats?

  Does anyone know how the stats of a password-protected post works?

  I recently made one of my posts password-protected. Before doing so, I had 15 views; today, I have one. Does this one view mean that someone had to physically enter in the password or does it count the view if someone tried to view the post and didn’t have the password anyways?
