password recovery

I am not able to recover my password.
I changed my site ip address to domain name, and as soon as i saved it, the site reloaded and asked me to input credentials again.
But it wasn’t working so i opted for ‘Lost your password’ option.
If i give my email id to get new password, i get a new window saying –
‘This email could not be sent. Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function’

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

I changed my site ip address to domain name

What is the address of the site you need help with? What you describe here is not possible on a WordPress.com site.

If you’ve lost access after updating the address on a site using the open source WordPress software with another hosting provider, please contact that hosting provider directly for help. We cannot help with sites that are not hosted on our servers, and our password reset process will not help in this case as we don’t control the login for your site.

You can also try the password reset instructions for that version of WordPress:

  • Hi there,

That site is not hosted on WordPress.com, so we cannot help with this. The password for that site has no connection to your WordPress.com account, but is stored in your site’s database on your hosting provider’s servers. We don’t have any access there to help you reset it.

Please use the instructions I provided above for resetting the password on your version of WordPress.

For more help with this, please post in https://wordpress.org/support/ or contact your hosting provider instead. That site appears to be hosted by Googledomains.com
