I am trying to reset my password for word press dashboard so i can access my site. it keeps asking me for my username or my email to reset the password. It says no emails are valid with my account so i add my username in, it says it has sent a confirmation link. But where does the confirmation link go? How does a link go to a username? I am really confused and need help. I somehow can access wordpress.com but cant access my site. I dont see what the difference between the two are.

I figured out my password through my notes but for future reference id like to know where these password reset links go -
That site is not hosted with us, but using the open source WordPress software made by the community on WordPress.org.
The email would go to whatever email you have set for your admin account on that site.

This forum is for the hosting provider, WordPress.com. We’re not the same thing as the open source WordPress software you’re using on that site, and we have no access to your hosting provider’s servers to help you regain access to your site.
