Pasted MS Word Documents (without HTML) converted to Web Links
-
Wordpress has changed recently. On occasion, one or two lines in my word file used to turn up as HTML or Web Links when I pasted the text into my blog.
All I would have to do is click it, and click the ‘Link’ button, and the HTML / web link would go away.
Now when I do that, I get a prompt to connect the non-HTML / web link to a site.
How can I get back the original functionality and just delete the links?
WP.com: Yes
Jetpack: No

WordPress hasn’t changed a bit. That said it has never been a good idea to copy a word document into a website as not all formatting will carry over cleanly, so you may need to tweak some settings. You find usefull info at https://wordpress.com/support/microsoft-word/

I looked, and that was not helpful.
Something in WordPress did change. Before the change, if I clicked the “link” icon (looks like two “c’s” with a dash between them) after clicking what WP occasionally thought was a link, it would clear. Now all I get is a drop down of what to “link” the non-link to.
I started using WP, and draft offline using MS Word since my Blog gets email responses that have to be incorporated.
