  I just signed up, but thought I needed to pay (security of address and domain choice?) but I didn’t pay for anything.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  You don’t need to pay to blog at WordPress.com. You need to pay if you want a custom domain like whatever.com instead of whatever.wordpress.com.

  Thank you, raincoaster! I thought since I picked my name, there was a charge. And I read something about the address security being an extra $8. (Brand new at this!)

  If you want a custom domain like whatever.com, but you don’t want people to find your address, then you can buy privacy for that extra eight bucks. If you don’t have a custom domain, you don’t need it.
