    i need to know if ill have to pay after a year for my domain name renewal and if ill have to pay $4 monthly to start a personal use site?

    Hi there, all WPcom upgrade plans are paid for the full year (or two) at checkout and are automatically renewed with the payment method on record unless you opt out. Monthly payments are not available at this time.

    If you already own a custom domain name that you registered elsewhere, you can either transfer the domain to WPcom or map it to your WPcom site.

    If you transfer your custom domain, renewal will be included in your WPcom plan for a certain period (depending on how long your original domain renewal is for) and then you’ll renew your domain and plan separately.

    If you map your domain, you’d need to continue your domain renewal at your registrar in addition to keeping up your WPcom upgrade plan.
