  How can I set it up where the visitor can save or inquire about an item but not purchase it

  Hi there, do you mean something like “save for later”? That kind of functionality would only be possible with a WordPressdotcom Business plan upgrade with a shopping cart-type plugin. https://en.support.wordpress.com/business-plan/

  Depending on how you are listing your products, you could add an “inquiry” button to each product page that links to your site’s contact page and you could make a specialized contact form that would include a line for the item being inquired about.

  Another option would be to add a contact form to each product page, that way when someone sends an inquiry, it would by default contain the title of the product page it was sent from.
