Payment options variations

I would like to know why it is only possible to purchase 1 item in the store with bitcoin. I would like to purchase a premium theme and was under the impression bitcoin was a payment option on this website. I am a bit dissapointed as I have no paypal or creditcard (but I do have bitcoin). I was just wondering why you would only have 1 item in the shop with bitcoin as a payment option and bar it from the rest.

Most premium themes are not developed in house by WordPress.com staff. They are provided by third party theme designers to WordPress.com so I assume that’s your answer. I’ll tag this thread for a Staff response. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

Hi there,
We currently aren’t able to accept bitcoin for premium theme and domain registration purchases, but you should be able to use bitcoin for all other WordPress.com upgrades. If you run into any trouble with that, please let me know.
