PDF Connected to Deleted Website Still Exists

    I noticed that one of my linked PDFs contains personal phone information that Google search turns up as the first option. Obviously, I would rather not have that information out there for random people to see, so I deleted all of my media files, including that PDF. It still showed up as the first option for Google search. I have a free account, so I can’t add plug-ins. So then I went drastic and deleted my whole website. And the PDF with my information is STILL the first option that shows up for Google search. How can I get rid of that PDF???

    Hi there, WordPressdotcom has no control over how often or soon search engines remove their cache of your site. Search engines will eventually crawl your site again and see that it’s been removed, but if you need to remove content before that you’ll need to use each search engine’s utility to do that. https://en.support.wordpress.com/search-engines/

    If you want us to check whether the file address comes up as a 404-not found, you’ll need to share the exact URL of the file.

    You didn’t need to delete your entire WordPressdotcom website. If it’s been less than 30 days since you deleted it and you’d like to recover the site, please be logged in with the username account that registered the site (if it’s not this one) and mention that here in this thread.
