  I am trying to shorten my permalink, but it automatically puts the date in…is there a way to not have the date be part of my permalink? When I click on edit next to the permalink at the top of my post, the only part that is editable comes after my domain name AND the date. I don’t want the date….

  Here at WordPress.com it isn’t possible to remove the date from a post permalink unless you have the Business plan. However if you are talking about the BlueHost site listed above then you can make those changes. You’d need to ask how/what plugin you’d need at https://wordpress.org/support/
