Permalink issue

  I have reset my entire wordpress site in an attemot to rectify this issue but I just cannot seem to get it right.

  I have changed my permalink structure from plain to post name. When this was saved there was a pop up at the top of the Screen telling me to update my web.config now.

  The page URL’s are correct when I create a new page which is fine now but when I try to view the pages or visit them using the URL I keep getting a 404 page not found error.

  If I use the plain permalink structure everything works perfectly however I do not want that URL structure.

  Please help!

  What is the URL of your site running on the wordpress.com platform as you can’t change the permalinkstructure on a free wordpress.com site.

  I have the site set up on a windows hosting server.

  You are on the wrong forum as your site uses the open source wordpress.org. Their support is at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
