permalink problem
-
I am currently using the free version of wordpress.com and one of my pages always automatically adds a ‘-2’ at the end the of the permalink. i am just curious on how to resolve this issue since i couldn’t find anything online

Hi there!
If the permalink of a page/post adds
-2at the end, it generally means there’s another page with a similar permalink. If it’s not published, it might be in draft/trash. You’ll need to delete that post permanently to be able to use that permalink again without the system automatically appending-2at the end of the permalink. Can you share the link to the page where
-2is added automatically? We can look into that further for you.Regards

hi this is the site address is showing the “-2” in the link https://chengsdesignportfolio.wordpress.com/portfolio-2/
can you please look into the issue for me? -
You need to check your other page’s slugs to make sure that there isn’t another one using the
portfolioslug.Go to your Pages (https://chengsdesignportfolio.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=page) and click on the “Quick Edit” link on each page.
Then check the “Slug” field and see if there’s a page using that term already.

Thank you for your reply,
I have checked the slugs in all of my pages but seems like I could not find any page that is using that term already and i am still unable to change my slug in the via the “Quick edit”. i am just curious on why is that the case? -
Sorry, I just realized that you are using the portfolio feature, so there’s already a page named
portfolioautomatically created. All of your projects will automatically appear on this page and you can add that page to your site’s menu so that visitors can view your projects. You can find more information here:
