Permalinks

  I recently reorganized my blog and added a few new pages. I went through a few iterations of an “about” page and the permalink for the winner is “about-3”. When I try to change it to “about” and click OK, it reverts back to “About-3”. Help?

  Hi there,

  This happens when pages that have the permalink you want to use (in this case, “about” instead of “about-3”) are still in your blog’s Trash. You can go to Pages > All Pages in your dashboard and click the Trash link at the top of the page to see what pages are still in the trash.

  If you delete those pages permanently, the permalink will be freed up again and you can change it on your current About page. You can read more about deleting pages here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/edit-pages-screen/#delete-pages
