Permalinks after moving to a new server

    Hi there,

after I moved my wordpress installation to a new server, everything is fine.

But as many blogs and google linked to specific entries on my old weblog, simply forwarding the old domain to the new one will not work. Instead of the article, they will only see the frontpage of the weblog.

So I’m wondering whether there is any plugin that recognizes the permalink structure of the link and adds it while forwarding to the new adress. The permalink structure on both blogs is the same.

I really hope you understand what I mean. ^^

    Thanks!!!

Hi. You’re in the wrong place. Self hosted blogs are supported at wordpress.org. This is wordpress.com and we can’t use plugins.

I’m relatively certain that SOMETHING of the sort must exist, but ella’s right; the answer will be over at WordPress.org.

This is one reason I support getting a domain name as early in a blog’s life as possible: I’ll have to change all my early links to raincoaster.wordpress.com, but I won’t have to do a thing about the links I have to raincoaster.com when/if I move.
