Permanent local archive of blog?

Is there any way to do a permanent local archive of a blog? What I’m wanting to do is essentially take a snapshot of the current blog and store it on a CD or something, so that, in the future, someone can take the CD and peruse the blog as if they were online. They, of course, wouldn’t be able to post, but they can look at all the posts and so on. Is there any way of doing something like this?

You can back up your blog, which is always a good idea:

But to achieve what I think you mean (looks just like you’re online but you’re not) would require a local install of the software that powers the blogs and that is not possible on wordpress.com.

Thanks. I think I have a solution though. I’m just going to locally mirror the blog (using httrack) and that can then be copied onto a CD. It isn’t dynamic since the SQL database isn’t there, but that isn’t what I need anyways.
