Photo gallery slideshow

  I’m brand new at this so I need some help with a photo gallery I created. I want to add an additional image to the slideshow, but it just sits at the top of the page as the slideshow goes through the other images. Thanks!

  If a recently added image “just sits at the top of the page,” then you inserted the image into the page, rather than adding it to the slideshow. To add the image to the slideshow do the following:

  1. Click on one of the slideshow images (or even near one of them) to enable access to the gallery editor. Strange as it may seem, WordPress has devised it so this is the necessary first step.

  2. Click on the pencil icon above the slideshow images.

  3. Click on the link “Add to Gallery” at the left.

  4. Upload a file or select one from the media gallery with the tabs at the top of the “Add to Gallery” module.

  5. Edit the image as desired in the Attachment Details section at the right.

  6. Click the “Add to Gallery” button at the bottom right.

  7. Move the image, by dragging and dropping, to the desired spot in the gallery.

  8. Select the “Update Gallery” button at the bottom right.

  9. Update the post or page.

  I promise you that this process was a lot more simple, intuitive, and user friendly three or four years ago.
