photo setting to enable linked slideshow

  My posts tend to be several photos, and when they show up in my post they are a medium small size. I want to enable the photo in the post to be clicked on and open in a zoomed version or slideshow. The example for my theme (twenty fourteen) does this in it’s photo posts, but I can’t find where to turn this on in my settings.

  I looked through the FAQ page and found that this ability might be called an ‘image gallery carousel’. I went to my WP-admin page -> settings -> media, and found that this setting is already turned on. I’m not sure where to look next.
