Photography download folder

Hi all
I’m a photographer and I’ve built my own website that has a photo proofing page for each of my wedding clients. I’d like to create a folder that my clients can download with their images in. The files are large and numerous so the folder will be large. I’m using a Mac but can create .zip files on a Windows PC if needed.
Can anyone suggest where to start? Is it possible to add a .zip file that can be downloaded to a page?Thanks

You can read more about adding downloadable content here:Zip files are supported with paid plans only starting from Personal, so if you have one of the supported paid plans you can add the zip file to your website.

Your site is not hosted on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress.org software at another hosting provider. We cannot help with this in the WordPress.com forums.

That said, the simplest option would be to use a file sharing service like Dropbox, and just provide clients with a link to download the files there, while posting low-res/optimized versions on your site as a preview. There is no reason why the folders containing the photos have to be hosted on your server along with your website, and in fact something like will very quickly cause you to start hitting storage and bandwidth limits at your hosting provider. Rather use a separate service that’s designed for specifically this type of thing.

The information you provided only applies to sites hosted on WordPress.com, not to sites using the open source version of WordPress as in this case.
