  photos get stuck in “crunching” mode and will not save to my gallery.

  Your photos are huge (some are 5MB) and as a result you may encounter network timeouts.

  It is really important to resize your images to the maximum width of your content area or alternately about 1280 pixels wide (tops!) before you upload them in order to preserve image clarity and to save on both storage space and bandwidth.
