PHP update

Hello, I am a Student worker for Temple university and I wanted to know how to update the PHP for it. I have login information for just the website but not for WordPress, I don’t understand why, if you need some sort of credentials, i’m sure we can get that figured out. Anyway, my supervisor really wants to update the PHP in hopes of the other plugins updating and fixing any bugs that they may have. We can’t help you as your site isn’t running on the wordpress.com platform. Updating the PHP has to be done on the server. You must contact your IT-man
