picture captions no longer saving
-
When editing pictures and adding captions to them, I can no longer get the caption to save and appear on my site. I have 3 that I did a month ago with borders and captions, but the same process is no longer working. Is this a glitch?

Are you still seeing this issue? There was an image library glitch at about the same time that you created this thread. So it is possible that the two were related.

Yes…. Just tried again now. I’m trying to add a fourth picture to the bottom of this page:

So, I notice that you are hotlinking those images into the page from another website rather than uploading them to your WordPress.com media library (assuming that you are talking about a fourth “ages” image). Is there a reason you are hotlinking?

Haha, sorry, I’m not sure what hotlinking is. How does it differ from normal linking?
All I’m aware that I did is: I copied each image from another website, pasted it into the document, added captions, and linked them to their corresponding page on my site. I just tried saving one to my computer and uploading it to the media library, then inserting it onto my page, but adding a caption still won’t save. Thoughts?

I’m writing “Ages 2-3” in the caption section… Is that what you mean? I can edit and save the other existing captions, but whenever I try to save a new picture with caption, only the picture saves.

Not sure if this helps, but I’ve tried copying the picture from it’s original site, copying it from this page (I’m duplicating the Wiggle and Grow picture), and uploading it through the media library. Any other ways I can try?

That’s perfect! Thank you so much! How did you add the caption in case I need to change something in the future?

I copied/pasted the HTML from the previous image (in the “text” view) and then inserted the correct image link and caption.
