Pictures of paintings continually disappear from my website

  My paintings continually disappear off my website. Is it because I have been using copy and paste from my facebook messenger page and posting them on my website? Should I save them as a jpeg then download the paintings on my website?

  Adding images in that way don’t upload them to your site’s media library. It only hotlinks them. So should the file you’re linking to become unavailable for any reason at the service where you have hosted it, it would also cause the image to disappear from your site, yes.

  Should I save them as a jpeg then download the paintings on my website?

  If you upload them directly to your media library, the images will live on the same server as your site, and the only way an image can disappear from there is if you or another admin on your site manually delete them. So that’s definitely the more reliable option.
