Hello there,
You can read all about pingbacks and enabling and disabling them here. http://en.support.wordpress.com/comments/pingbacks/ Hope this helps. -
Hi there,
Can you give me a link to one or two posts that aren’t receiving pingbacks correctly? I’d be happy to take a closer look for you.

Hi Rachel,
so nice of you if you would check this out!I wrote this post:
http://wampiremoon.wordpress.com/2013/11/12/fotbollsgalan-stolpe-ut/And entered this post: http://blogg.sydsvenskan.se/gatu/2013/11/11/ar-146-herrlandskamper-fler-an-187-damditon/
where I wanted a pingback, both as a link directly in my original post and below it, You know in the discussion box, ” allow trackback for this post” but my post did not show up as a comment on the requested site.
What am I doing wrong?? -
Thanks for sending those links. The site at blogg.sydsvenskan.se is the site that should have received the pingback, right? That’s a self-hosted WordPress site (not hosted at WordPress.com), which means that the support staff here at WordPress.com can’t access the files and information to troubleshoot problems that appear there.
Self-hosted sites using the WordPress.org software are separate from sites here at WordPress.com — you can learn more about that here: WordPress.com and WordPress.org
It’s possible that a plugin or other setting on that site is interfering with the pingback, but unfortunately there’s not much more I can do to help figure out what’s happening on that end. You can, however, get additional help for self-hosted WordPress sites at these links:
Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

Hi there,
Sure thing! Thanks for sending those links.
I see that you actually made a trackback to that post, which is slightly different from a pingback.
If you link to a WordPress.com blog post in your post content, it will automatically send a pingback to that blog. (You don’t need to do any thing more to create the pingback.)
However, if you use the Send Trackbacks module in the editor to send a trackback, you need to be sure to use the trackback URL for that post. That’s different from the permalink to the post. For WordPress.com blogs, you can add trackback/ to the end of the permalink to create the trackback URL, like this:
If you enter that URL in the Send Trackbacks module, the trackback should work as expected. Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)
