  • Hi there,

The WordPress software, and also WordPress.com, does not come with any forum functionality built in. That functionality is added by a plugin, the most popular of which is bbPress which we also use for this support forum. If you want more information on the bbPress plugin, you can go to that plugin’s website at https://bbpress.org/

For advice on what other forum plugins are out there that might work for you, the best place to ask is the forums over at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/, but you’ll very likely need a combination of plugins, including spam-filtering, subscription, rating, and analytics plugins, in addition to a forums plugin.

    1. Access to the community can only happen from within my mobile or web application, there should not be any additional sign up/in.

I’m not sure about this one – the way WordPress is built, on must be a contributor or a member on a site in order to create content. Comments can be left by guests without being logged in, but creating new posts can only ever be done by logged-in users.

There might be plugins that allow guest-posts to a site, but again the WordPress.org forums would be the best place to advise you about that. If you find such a plugin, you’ll also need to make sure it’s compatible with whatever forums plugin you end up using – just because something works with the core WordPress software, it doesn’t mean it will work with other plugins for that software.
