Hi there,
The site mypotl.wordpress.com is actually hosted at WordPress.com. It’s the site that’s used to keep track of your domain mypotl.com, which you’re currently using with a self-hosted site.
As long as your domain mypotl.com is registered here at WordPress.com, you need that WordPress.com site to manage the domain. (The WordPress.com site is set to private so it isn’t visible to anyone.) If you prefer, you can transfer your domain to a different registrar, and then you’ll be able to delete the WordPress.com site.

Hi Sorry to be really thick but how do I make both blogs private or delete? How can you delete a self hosted site? Turns out I dont have a clue about blogs and self hosted etc etc xx

Hi there,
If you want to delete the self-hosted site completely, you’ll need to get in touch with your website host for that. (Since the site is hosted with a different website provider, not WordPress.com, they’ll be able to help you remove the site completely from their end.)
If you also want to cancel the domain name mypotl.com, please let me know and I can help you with that step. Keep in mind that canceling a domain means you give up ownership of that domain name. The domain name may not be released immediately, and there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to register it again in the future, so only do that if you’re sure you don’t want that domain name at all anymore.
