Please help! Can't disable two step authentication
-
I factory reset my phone without considering the two step authentication and in doing so, I no longer have WordPress set up in my newly setup Google Authenticator. I want to regenerate the QR code so I can reinstall WordPress on the app, but see no way to do this other than to disable what’s already set up. But I can’t do THAT because I no longer have WordPress on my authenticator. In order to disable it, I have to provide the authenticator code from the app. How can I get WP back on my authenticator so I can carry on business as usual? This is extremely frustrating.

Nevermind – as a last ditch effort, I tried a backup code again and it worked. I had tried it initially and it would not work for some reason.

Hi there,
Sorry for the trouble you had with that! If for any reason you can’t use Google Authenticator to generate a code, you can use a backup code instead. We have more about that here: Two Step Authentication
It sounds like you got everything sorted out, but please let me know if I can do anything more to help. :)
