Please help me to remove an obsolete account/possibly update to new one.

I had a website some yes back, which I canceled.
Now I decided to set up the site again and a huge problem is here!
I am devastated with the mess, time, and nerves I spent on various problems starting with Go daddy, till now.
Problem: coincidentally, my old domain was free, so I bought it again and was messing up my old and new account because domain and my e-mail as well stayed the same.
So now I have a new site set-up, I have WordPress.org working, can post content, but it turned out that ‘JET’ is connected with WordPress.com and doesn’t allow my posts go public, although WP.org shows note that they are published.
Whenever I tried to sign in my old WP.com account, it is showing my data as taken, which they are…THEY BELONG TO ME!
I need to set up new WP.com using my new user name, etc..data, with a difference of user name, same e-mail…There must be a way how to make changes and just go on. This way I can write just for myself…really, it’s ridiculous. Please help me to solve this. I am really exhausted, how much time I spent on all the problems around this. If I knew this could happen, I would have picked up another domain…but still my same e-mail would be in a way… I suppose? I am really not techie, I just would like to write and post it as I did years ago…

  • Howdy –

Thanks for writing to us. Let’s start by looking at the domain status. Please share the domain.

Oh, how happy I am someone responded. Thank you.

    domain: http://mayagalaxy.com

It works on WP.org. all OK, but no on WP.com
where old data are mixing up. It was the same domain years back,
    still keeps old data..

I forgot to stress that I am now in central Europe, so there is a time difference 8-9 hr. from the USA. But I am close to the computer practically all the time and I shall watch for any news from you. Again, thank you very much!

  • @kvetina08 Thanks for that :)

Can you clarify this part now?

I have WordPress.org working, can post content, but it turned out that ‘JET’ is connected with WordPress.com and doesn’t allow my posts go public, although WP.org shows note that they are published.

Are you referring to a Jetpack connection? If so, is there a chance you connected through a different account?

Also, what’s happening that’s stopping your posts from going public — are you getting an error? Please send more details on that and we’ll help how we can.

My detailed response to your additional questions was sent via my e-mail as I have received a request.
    Thank you again.

Yes, I had old account years ago, now set up a new website and old data are forcing in because by chance I was able to get my same domain back and kept the same e-mail address.
I have new data for signing in, meaning new user name, but those are not accepted. And e-mail shows as taken in connection with it.
But it is my e-mail for years.
I used the same e-mail, but another user name, so now new data must be accepted in order to be valid with WP.com, so my posts can be published, not they are not, although WP.org is a new account and there is all fine.

    Thank you again.

To which email are you referring? I don’t see any email support tickets for the account you’re using to post here.

I have new data for signing in, meaning new user name, but those are not accepted. And e-mail shows as taken in connection with it.
But it is my e-mail for years.

You are posting here as the WordPress.com username, kvetina08. This username was created two weeks ago, and has never had any sites connected to it via Jetpack. You can see the email associated with this account at https://wordpress.com/me/account/

There is a Jetpack connection in our system for the site, http://www.mayagalaxy.com, but that connection belongs to a different WordPress.com username, associated with a different email address. That account made changes to this site less than a week ago, so it’s not an abandoned or forgotten account.

To manage the Jetpack connection for that site, you need to be logged into that other WordPress.com account.

I used the same e-mail, but another user name, so now new data must be accepted in order to be valid with WP.com, so my posts can be published, not they are not, although WP.org is a new account and there is all fine.

It is impossible for you to have two usernames on WordPress.com with the same email address, and it is also impossible for a Jetpack connection to be preventing you from publishing content on a self-hosted site. Jetpack allows you to manage a site from a WordPress.com account, but it does not have any ability to block you from posting directly on the site from WP-Admin.

Can you please answer the question @supernovia asked above: Are you getting any specific error message when you try to publish your content?

I am sorry, you are very nice and I do appreciate your response, but it is wrong.

To make it very brief, explaining all widely just caused misunderstanding.

    1. My old account with WP.ORG was closed some years back.

    2. I set up new one some weeks ago via WP.org with same theme company and same theme and the same domain (was free still) and under the same e-mail.

    3. Theme co.had my old data, it was britkimi user name, so they changed it for a new one I provided. All works well.

    4. Now, after filling some content, I discovered that WP.com shows me as not existent for its account. Of course, because it is carrying an old user name. Just yesterday I received another note, also, when I work on my site, the note comes that I don’t have an account with WP.com

I do have it, under old data.

My goal in order not to get crazy totally and be able to get my website out to the public is,
I must remove the old user name, which looks as being britkimi and replace it with a new one, which I provide. Under same e-mail, which is (email visible only to moderators and staff)
When I do it, the message shows that e-mail is taken (of course, it’s mine) but not anymore connected with that old user name. So I cannot sign in or use it. I MUST CORRECT USER NAME.

  • Your WordPress.com username account has noting at all to do with either your WordPress.org profile or your admin login for any specific site, so you can have completely different usernames for each one.

In this forum we can only help with the WordPress.com account, not any other account.

kvetina08, the WordPress.com account you’re currently logged into, is not a user on the site, http://mayagalaxy.com, period. If you are logged into that site in WP-Admin, you should be able to connect it to this WordPress.com account, but the Jetpack connection belongs to a completely different account, and always has.

The WordPress.com username, britkimi is a user on the http://mayagalaxy.com site. If you want to access the site as that user, log out of the kvetina08 account, and log back in as the britkimi account, and you’ll see that site listed in the account.

If you don’t remember the login details for the britkimi WordPress.com account, you can find our account recovery process here:

    Dear kokkieh,

You got yourself a funny “name”, made me laugh…

    But, YOU ARE MY HERO!!!

Your answer finally solved on a spot my problem with re-renewal of my WP account. I spent on it days AND nights, and Tons of questions, and e-mails and nerves, and it turned out SOLVED!!
I really was convinced that user on wp.com must correspond with a user on wp.org.
I was convinced I never solve this. I actually switched all my published posts (supposedly published by wp.org, but not by wp.com) into drafts, practically giving up.
Is there any other place I can make you famous! You are really my man.
    THANK YOU AGAIN!
    All the best.
    Maya
