PLEASE HELP! The text alignment has changed from centre to left

    PLEASE HELP ME!

    All the text in my blog, which uses the book lite theme has moved from being centre aligned to left aligned.

    I have had the blog for three months (www.potteringpoet.com) and all of the sudden the text in each post is now aligned left, rather than centre which is how it should be.

    I am not tech savvy, so i need the solution explained to me simply, Please!!

    ps: I should note that the headings of each post are still centre aligned, just not the text.

    What is the standard turn around time for responses? I’ve never used a forum like this before!

    Hi Natalie,

    I took a look at some of your blog posts, and it looks like you recently edited them to change the alignment from center to left. But don’t worry, you can change it back if you want. :)

    You can change the text alignment in your posts from the post editor. To start, go to Posts > All Posts in your dashboard. Then, click the title of the post you want to edit. Select the text you want to have center-aligned, and then click the Align Center button. You can see what that looks like here:

    When you’re done, click the Update button to save your changes. Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

    We do our best to answer your questions as quickly as possible, in the order we receive them. One thing to note is that each time you reply to your own post it moves the post down the list — so for the quickest response time, try not to reply to your own post unless you really need to. :)

    Thanks very much for getting back to me.

    I’ve already done this and though it aligns the text to the centre, it ruins the formatting of the first line – take a look – http://potteringpoet.com/2013/06/07/m-and-g-2/?preview=true&preview_id=275&preview_nonce=aafa3d1ef4&post_format=standard

    My issue is that all my text was centre aligned when i first set up the blog – it seems that this was the ‘default’ setting of the style sheet, and all of the sudden, it’s moved all the text to the left.

    Has the stylesheet for Book lite changed? I have tried everything to re-align it in the centre and NOTHING has worked.

    What else can you suggest??

    Hi Natalie,

    I looked at the Book Lite stylesheet, and it hasn’t changed. The text alignment has never been centered by default. Is it possible you were using a different theme on your blog when you saw that center alignment?

    I also took a look at a cached version of your site from Google. This is how your blog looked when Google cached it on October 10, and it looks like everything was left aligned then, too:

    However, I do see what you mean about the first line getting messed up when you center-align the text. I’ll check with our team to see if there’s anything we can do about that! Otherwise, you might want to try out other themes to see if you like the way they look with your text centered.
