Please Help! What happened to my site?

  My opening page has turned black and white with nothing listed. Where has it gone?

  I can see all my pages an d posts but not my site at http://www.guardsix6.com. That’s how I’ve always got to it.

  Please help! Soon!

  Hi Jim,

  Your domain guardsix6.com isn’t currently pointed to WordPress.com, which is why you don’t see your WordPress.com site when you visit it.

  I just checked your domain’s public registration information here:

  http://who.is/whois/guardsix6.com

  It looks like your domain is registered with Dreamhost, and the registration expired on March 28, 2015. You’ll need to keep your domain registered with Dreamhost in order to use it here at WordPress.com. (It’s possible that Dreamhost pointed the domain back to their servers after it expired.)

  Can you please renew the domain over at http://www.dreamhost.com and see if that resolves the issue for you?

  Ok, I’m refreshing the domain at deamhost. it shows something like ns1.dreamhost.com, ns2.dreamhost.com, ns3.dreamhost.com

  is that right?

  My domain name should be good for another year at Dreamhost. I don’t understand why your system says it expired on March 28, 2015.

  Ok, I changed the domain name servers at dreamhost to

  ns1.wordpress.com; ns2.wordpress.com; ns3.wordpress.com

  Hopefully that will put things back once it updates.

  Hi there,

  Sorry for the confusion! I was looking at the publicly available information about your domain in the WHOIS registry — it sounds like it just wasn’t updated with the latest information about your domain’s expiration date. I see now that your domain is registered through 2016.

  The three WordPress.com name servers you mentioned are correct. It can take up to 72 hours for domain changes like that to take effect everywhere, but once that change propagates your domain will be pointed back to WordPress.com. If you have any trouble with it after that, please let me know!
