Please log in again. message whenever I login

  Just upgrade from 2.5.1 to 2.6.1 All went well – the blog is online. My admin account is now not working. Several things wrong.
  1) the rest password never emails me – so I ‘tweekd’ the code to show me the $message fror the email so I could cut/past the link. [I will debug this problem onc I have admin control back again!]
  2) the given password is correct but always gives “Please log in again.”
  3) I’ve even hard coded the password in the code to be sure it is correct -same “Please log in again.”

  I know the password is correct as when I alter it I get the “error in password/cookies message”

  Can anyone shed any light on the “Please log in again.” message – what do I need to do?

  Since you are self-hosted, you need to inquire over at http://wordpress.org/support/ . This forum is for those hosted here on wordpress.com, and wordpress.org provides support for the self-hosted version.
