PLEASE use my UPDATED red-card info

Yesterday, after getting a notice that the credit card for my account had expired, i logged on here and entered all the specifics of my new, valid credit card. Yet today I again received a notice about the failed use of my OLD credit card. I know that one has expired–that’s why I gave all the information about the new one. Please use it.

Where exactly did you update the card info? You need to add new payment details to the specific upgrade on the Purchases page, not on the billing history page.

Click on the upgrade there, and select the Edit payment info option. Then you can add new info for that upgrade’s renewal.
However, I notice you don’t own any upgrades in this account. If you have upgrades that belong to a different account, you need to log in as that account in order to update your payment info for those upgrades.

I’m not trying to upgrade anything! I’m just trying to give upDATED information on my credit card. So where do I have to enter that information? Why is there no way to explain verbally–that is, by phone– to a human being?

As you don’t own any upgrades on WordPress.com there is no reason for you to update your payment details. It’s only possible to update payment details if you have an active upgrade.
The last upgrade you owned with us expired in July last year.
If you want to buy a new Premium Plan for you site you can do so under My Site ->Plans. Among other things that will give you access to live chat support, but we do not offer telephone support on WordPress.com.

Sorry, I’m still confused. What is it on my site that I’m supposed to renew at this time? Why do I keep getting these dire threats to cancel my site, if nothing on the site has expired?

For what website are you getting the renewal notices? The site you linked to wordsinminddotcom.wordpress.com is empty of content.

There are no upgrades in your account, so I don’t know what you are trying to renew. I don’t see any reason why we’d send you any renewal reminders whatsoever for this account as you don’t own anything that needs to be renewed.
All upgrade reminders we send out clearly state the name of the site and the exact upgrade that should be renewed, along with the cost of renewing it. If that information is not in the email, and the email is not coming from help[at]wordpress.com, then it’s not us sending it.
The only site in this account is http://wordsinminddotcom.wordpress.com, and that site has no upgrades attached to it. If you have another site in a different account you need to be logged into that account to renew any upgrades it owns.
