  Why can’t I install free plugins or upload plugins, I need to add ADS.TXT to my website

  Howdy,

  You will need a paid Business or eCommerce Plan to use plugins on WordPress.com.

  Another option is to start a self-hosted WordPress site from https://wordpress.org/ where you can use plugins for whatever the cost of your hosting plan is.

  To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

  WordPress.org has complete documentation for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress.org at https://wordpress.org/support/ and support at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

  To use Google Ads on WordPress.com you will need to upgrade to the Business or eCommerce plan.
