Plug in tab missing? Am I not self hosted if I am working through go daddy?
-
I have a domain through go daddy and I was reading in the forums that you can use plugins if you are self hosted? I cannot find the plugin tab on my dashboard? I did what a lot of people said in the forum but it’s still not working. I just want to make sure I can use plugins. Thanks !
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Your domain is registered with GoDaddy, but you’re just mapping it to a WordPress.com blog.
We don’t allow plugins on WordPress.com for security reasons. Plugins are a feature only available for self-hosted blogs provided through WordPress.org. You can find out more about this topic here: http://support.wordpress.com/plugins/
However, we do have several built-in features that were inspired by many popular plugins. You might find what you want by searching for it at http://en.support.wordpress.com/

Thanks for getting back to me. Is there any way to change the homepage instead of having the blog in the front? I was able to move the blog but now I don’t know how to design the homepage with it being static? Where would the forum be to discuss that?
-
Yes, you can set a static front page following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/

I have the static page set up but now I am on the hunt for templates to design the home page. Pictures, divided areas where you can put text and pictures?
-
You the most part, you can build that in our editor, but keep in mind that whatever you do will be the page content within the context of the theme.
We have 211 themes to choose from at http://theme.wordpress.com/ and you can insert images following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/
