Plug ins for a .com blog

  I have a wordpress.com blog would like to add plug ins what do i do?

  We don’t allow plugins on WordPress.com for security reasons. Plugins are a feature only available for self-hosted blogs provided through WordPress.org.

  However, we do have some really cool widgets. Perhaps one of those might meet your needs?

  Hi thanks for your reply , of course I have seen the widgets, like some of them and use those, but as you know the number is limited and I am looking for things like Yoast, amongst others. A few others (text.. )don’t work the way i want.
  I read about the ‘for security reason’ explaination on the forum, indeed.
  I guess I ll probabaly have to move then to wp.org if this it.

  True, there are no restrictions if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities. We have hosting recommendations at the following link if you are interested.

  Cheers will look at it tonight, will i in that case be able to keep the same domain name? And – if you are allowed to say – would any of the hostings companys have your preference?

  All hosts listed on that page are superb.

  To point the domain you registered at WordPress.com to another server (hosting service), please follow the instructions here:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/change-name-servers/#changing-domain-name-servers

  Note you will need to obtain the name server values from your current host. You should be able to find them on their support documentation, or contact them and ask for the information. (Name servers may be referred as “nameservers” or “NS records” instead.)

  Hi again,
  it turns out that I have to wait 60 days before I make the switch, a pity clearly made to the choice for wp.com a bit too fast I guess, thanks for the support though.
