Plugin not working :o/
-
I need to add a plugin to my wordpress blog so I can embed our mail chimp signup form and have it show correctly (which it’s not doing when I currently use the MC embed form). But then your plugin page (http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/) says we can’t put in plugins in, which makes no sense because I know it’s possible. We have a web person building our business website and there’s a ton of plugins in there. Is there something I’m missing here?
Please advise!
Thanks!
Below are links to screenshot of what happens when I try and embed the form in the post and then preview it…

Hi Jody,
I believe there is some misunderstanding between WordPress.com and WordPress.org.
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities. At WordPress.com, we provide hosting, support, and tons of features for blogs. Users also have the option to purchase a variety of upgrades to customize the look and feel of their blog. WordPress.org is a software for self-hosted sites. With WordPress.org, users are provided access to all backend files and can upload custom themes and plugins.
Check here to learn more about the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org:
So currently you have a WordPress.com site: itsthegrayfamily.com, which means that you wouldn’t be able to add plugins on this site.
If you need to move, this guide will step you through the process of moving your site to a WordPress.org instance:

As we only support sites hosted here at WordPress.com, all issues with the new site – including the importing of the file – must be taken to the WordPress.org support community:
If you’d like assistance moving your WordPress.com site to WordPress.org, we have a service called Guided Transfer that does all the work for you. Check it out to see if itâs right for you:
