Pointing my domain to Cargo Collective

  I want to point my domain that I bought through wordpress and that is currently pointed to my wordpress blog, to a different site (http://cargocollective.com/mileschic)

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  To point the domain you registered at WordPress.com to another server (hosting service), please follow the instructions here:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/change-name-servers/#changing-domain-name-servers

  Note you will need to obtain the name server values from your current host. You should be able to find them on their support documentation, or contact them and ask for the information. (Name servers may be referred as “nameservers” or “NS records” instead.)

  Another alternative is using the Site Redirect upgrade to redirect your domain: http://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect

  Hello,

  I bought the redirect upgrade and still don’t know how to do it. I thought it had worked, but when the link is opened it looks like it’s pasting in:

  no colon
  http//cargocollective.com/miles chic

  so the site it won’t load correctly.

  I appreciate the information, but in terms of customer service for my money I would really really appreciate it if someone could take a look at it and make sure its connected properly.

  Also, when it is functioning normally, will the address in the browser nav bar show as, say, “cargocollective.com/mileschic/about” as opposed to “mileschic.com/about”?

  If not, how can this be altered?

  Thanks for the help so far, but its still directing to my old wordpress site. I don’t know if I framed my issue correctly, let me try again:

  What I would like to do is delete my current wordpress blog, and have the login information necessary to redirect my domain (purchased through wordpress) to my cargocollective site without having anything related to wordpress.

  I sent an email to the people at Cargo and they told me my domain bought through WordPress is registered to “wild west domains”, is there any way I can obtain the information necessary to login and manage my domain myself?

  I’ve been really happy with my wordpress experience so far, but my new site is closer to meeting my specific needs.

  The site redirect upgrade redirects your WordPress.com blog to your self-hosted site. Therefore it’s not possible to remove your WordPress.com blog.

  The domain you have is registered through us at wild west domains. This guide explains how to transfer the domain name to another registrar. If you want to keep the domain with us, but want to manage the DNS records yourself, follow the steps here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/change-name-servers/#changing-domain-name-servers
