Possible content issue (stripper life)

Hello! I am hoping to start a blog about being a stripper. Daily life, set backs in the “real world,” dealing with stigma, how I maximize my income, how to file taxes as a dancer, and more. In short, a blog about being a stripper and how I mesh it in with my “real life.” Would this have to be tagged as mature content? If I were to post a selfie on my blog in an outfit that covers as much or more than a normal bikini, would that be flagged? I’m just wondering how to properly go about this so I don’t run into any problems! Thank you very much in advance!

  • Hi there,

Put it this way – would you be fine with a ten-year-old reading what you’re going to write? Or seeing the images you’re posting? If not, please self-report your site as mature. Even if you don’t get into anything too dicey, I’d say the subject matter as you describe it above qualifies as intended for grown-ups, i.e. mature.

We don’t have any age gates on WordPress.com, anyone will still be able to see your site, and it will still be indexed in search engines. But if it’s marked as mature your site won’t be suggested or recommended in the WordPress.com Reader, and the link will be hidden in public areas of WordPress.com like here in the forums – the “blog I need help with” link would only be visible to staff in that case.
