Possible to have two sites under same email?

I am not at all familiar with the correct terms with building/hosting websites or how any of this works. I’m apologizing now as this may be painful for some of you to read…
We had a person, outside of our company, working on our website. She used wordpress and fatcow and when she was finished, she changed everything to an admins email address and sent us passwords etc. Later on, the admin started a new blog/site (or something) with WordPress using the same email address. Now when we try to log-in using the email address, we are brought to the second site that the admin signed up for instead of the original one for the company. When we try to log-in with the username instead of the email address, we’re also denied. I guess I’m asking first, is this possible? Can we have two different sites using the same email address? Second, if it is possible, how can we recover the other one? Third, if it’s not possible and we obviously have no idea what the email address is, how can we recover our account?

No, it is not possible. Each email address can only be associated with one WordPress.com account, and will not be able you to use the same email again:
