Post carousel not displaying featured images

Hello!
I am configuring a new website where I have pages that contain post carousels that are supposed to display posts from specific categories.
When I set my pages up in the block editor, everything looks fine, but whenever I preview or see the pag online, the featured images are all missing from the carousel.

I’ve taken a look at karimissadesign.wordpress.com but I’m not sure I was able to spot your carousel issue. Can I see this on your homepage? Or is it a specific place I need to look at?

It looks like this is a known issue with this block and something we’re working on.
The problem appears specifically when displaying via categories. Can you try displaying via tags and see if the issue replicates please?

I report is an internal case and was first reported in August of this year.
I’ve taken a close look at the site and I’m beginning to wonder if this is theme specific.
For example, the post carousel is currently holding a placeholder – and I’ve noticed that the featured image, in the post doesn’t seem to full load in the editor.
Would you be willing to see if a featured image shows on a different theme?

That’s weird, as I am using Twenty Twenty, which I believe is one of the most full-featured theme you offer…
I have just tried to change the theme and the only one that seems to solve the issue is the Sketch theme, which I am not particularly fond of.
I also did try to use Twenty Twenty-One (again, as I think it’s fully featured and recent), and it didn’t work either.
Do you have specific themes that I should try? Why does it work on some themes and not others?

This is true! It’s pretty robust.
I also did try to use Twenty Twenty-One (again, as I think it’s fully featured and recent), and it didn’t work either.
This will require some further troubleshooting I suspect, but just to be clear, with other themes (other than sketch) did the featured image not upload when editing the post?
Do you have specific themes that I should try? Why does it work on some themes and not others?
I’d perhaps go back to using TwentyTwenty for now… as this is the preferred theme.

From the themes I have tested, here are my results:
The featured images apear in the customizer for the following themes:
– Quadrat
– Geologist
– Jackson
– SketchThey do not appear in the follwing themes:
– Twenty Twenty
– Twenty Twenty-One
– Twenty Nineteen
– Ixion
– Shoreditch
– Sequential -
Also: if you’re willing to save a private page with what you see, just in case we’re not able to duplicate it on this side, that would be very helpful. Thank you!

Just swinging back to this, I was able to duplicate this in Twenty Twenty One:
– I set up a post carousel with a specific tag that has featured images on all posts.
– I confirmed it worked!
– You mentioned “in the customizer” and originally I thought you meant in the block customizer
– I asked myself if you meant the site customizer, under Content Options. I just checked there, and there’s an option for displaying featured images on single posts. If I uncheck that on my test site, save changes, and refresh my carousel post, the images disappear from the carousel as well.
Can you confirm the carousel works if you re-check that option?

Ok, so I did try to check the “displaying on single posts” option, but that didn’t change things. On the other hand, I clicked the “Display on pages” option and the photos showed up on my carousel (and on my page).
Ideally, I would like them to show up on the carousel but not on the page. Is there a way to do that?
