Post Display

I am trying to configure the layout of my blog so that the most recent post is shown in its complete form, then all of the older posts only have a few sentences showing, which requires the reader to click it open to read the rest. Is this option possible in the Twenty Ten theme? If so, please explain how to do it. Thanks in advance! -Kriste

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi Kriste,

The Twenty Ten theme is designed to show the full post on the blog page. If you’d like to only show part of a post, you can do that with the “more” tag: More Tag

You can add that tag to each post, and any text before the post will appear on your blog page. Readers will have to then click through to read the rest of the post.

There isn’t a way to make the Twenty Ten theme do this automatically, but you can do it by adding the “more” tag to your older posts. Then, each time you publish a new post you can update the next oldest post with a “more” tag so only the most recent post is visible in full on the blog page.

Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)
