Post refuses to publicize…

I’ve spent about an hour finishing off a new blog post, then I’ve spent a further hour and a half trying to get the damn thing to post to my social media accounts and for some reason it’s just not working. I’ve had this happen before and I followed a certain process to try and get it to work and it did. But following that same process (save as draft, re-connect accounts, then publish after selecting my feeds) hasn’t worked this time so I’m wondering if that time before was simply a fluke.
I’m certain it’s not an issue with the connections though, as it’s not publishing to ANY of them. I have connections to Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn.
I’m pretty much at my wit’s end with this and I really don’t want to have to go through this kind of thing regularly as it’s souring the whole experience for me. So if anyone can offer any help as to what’s going wrong here, I’ll be eternally grateful.

Please note that reconnecting Publicize with Facebook and/or with Twitter. LinkedIn, etc. does not re-publicize missed posts, but it will work for future posts.
Have you tried using the Facebook debugger and or flushing your Facebook cache?

As long as the issue exists, it’s going to be way faster AND get more readers to the blog if you simply post the links manually to those social media sites.

Wait. ALSO I don’t see any actual posts on that site. I see only static pages. There’s your issue: static pages do not publicize, period. Only posts do.

Timethief, I’ve done most of that already but there are a couple of things I haven’t tried yet, so I’ll run through all that tomorrow and report back.
Raincoaster, I have posted the links manually for this one now, but I’d be interested to know how doing it this way gets more readers (I’m new to this whole blogging thing.)
The posts don’t go on the main page, they appear in the section titled “The Big Cybot Build”. I’m not sure if having them appear in that section and not on the main page would affect the amount of readers, but the layout made sense to me at the time :) -
Having them appear on any page other than the blog landing page is going to negatively impact your SEO.
It gets more readers because platforms like Google Plus and Facebook can detect material posted by robots, and automatically show it to fewer people. Manually posting makes such a big difference in terms of readership that I never have and never will enable Publicize on any of my websites. Also, you look stupid if your tweets only have half a sentence in them…everyone can tell you didn’t bother to post it yourself.

Also, there are several twitter analysis sites that analyze profiles of Followers and tweeters and put them in categories. “Majority of posts are from apps” like Publicize is a category you don’t want to be in. It’s the spam category. People unfollow people in that category.

Ah, good to know. Thanks very much for the info, I’ll go and make some changes now.
I guess there’s no point carrying on with the troubleshooting of this issue for me, as I’m going to do as you suggest and post manually from now on. I do like the idea of making my posts more personable on each feed.
